With Tide, you can add files (such as a photo of a receipt or paper invoice) to previous transactions to help with expenses management. This is possible by visiting the particular transaction in the app, or by ‘sharing’ a file in your phone storage with Tide.

Attaching a file from the transaction in the app

A timeline of past transactions using each of your Tide accounts can be accessed by tapping the name of the account on the Accounts page.

Select the transaction for which you would like to add a file from the transaction timeline.

This will take you to a screen showing you full details of the transaction.

Tap Attach file and choose the source of the file from the pop-up menu.

Once you have taken a photo or chosen a previous file from your library, the attachment will be added under today’s date at the bottom of the screen.

You can view attached photos in full-screen by tapping the image thumbnail or name.

Sharing a file with Tide

When viewing a file in your phone’s photo storage, tap the upload button to see the menu of apps you can use to share the file. Scroll horizontally through the apps to find the Tide logo. If Tide does not appear as an option, tap more and switch on Tide in the menu. Once added, tap Tide to continue.

You will then be directed to the Tide app, where you will be asked what you would like to do with the attachment. Tap Attach to transaction.

You will be prompted to enter your security code. Once done, you will see a list of past transactions. Select the transaction to which you would like to attach the file, then tap Attach.

A pop-up will appear, confirming the file has successfully been attached to the transaction. Tap Close to return to the file in your phone storage.

I would love to take advantage of it but it always times out when I’m in a coffee shop etc. (The photo doesn’t upload because it takes too long)

I appreciate this is probably a function of Pret’s broadband but other apps e.g. Xpenditure manage this somehow - can this be fixed please as it would make a big difference?

If bandwidth is the problem, I would scale down image resolution way down, like 6 MP or smaller in Camera Settings. That should do the trick!

We’ve had a number of reports of this, and are looking at the best ways to compress images that are uploaded as attachments. We want to do so in a way that reduces file size, but still keeps receipts legible. Until we do so @0xjd’s suggestion is a sensible one!

Hi, Apologies if this is the wrong place for this question!
I was recently on an expense management seminar which promoted Soldo, which looked prety useful. From my understanding, the only difference is that it allows multi-person access to the account, so my question is when will that be added, and when it is, will files attached to transactions be filterable by card user?

Full multi-user access is definitely a feature we want to introduce and it is on our roadmap 8 :slight_smile:
We will give more information about this feature as soon as it is ready. Watch this space!

For now, you can give your team read access 5 and order up to 35 team cards for your team members.
